Correct me if I’m wrong…

  • Everything in moderation.  This applies to trust. Too much of it can pressure you. Lack of it can diminish self-esteem.
  • In every action, there is equal reaction. When one person claims that he/she is not himself/herself when the other person is around. The latter feels the same way. Without them knowing it, both make each other walk on eggshells.
  • Luck favors the prepared mind. Especially in Law School.
  • Death and Criticisms are facts of life. Like the air we breathe, we can’t just get rid of them.
  • Oversleep equals nightmares. This is based on my experience. =)

THE WASHING OF THE PLATES

January 18th, 2009 by belle-z1

I have not washed plates for a week. I told my little now curly sister that she should have mercy on me for the duration of the whole midterm exams. And, since she just took her board exam, mercifully she granted me the favor so that I’ll have more time to study…supposedly.

However, because of the weather this past few days, the cool wind has been successfull in its constant invitation for me to slumberland. Hence, when my first exam knocked on my brain’s door, it caught me barely equipped. It’s too late for “I should haves” or “if only” now. Move on. One down and six more to go. So remember, no one can stop you, not even the cool wind from doing what you have to.=)

The moral lesson: WASH THOSE PLATES! (according to my mom…hehe)

7 days

November 29th, 2008 by belle-z1

It was after 7 days in “The Ring” movie, when Samara came out of the Televison…

It was on the 7th day when God rested after completing His wonderful creation…

There is something about 7 days…

And the best of the “7 days” is yet to come…

December 3-9, 2008…

Xavier Days 75th Anniversary Festival…

For the first time in my Law School History…

No classes…

For 7-days…

Hurray!=D

Happy Fiesta everyone!=D

Cheers to my Classmates!

"You are as weak as the weakest amongst you and as strong as the strongest amongst you"

The truth of this quote struck me in significant depth yesterday as far as my law school world is concerned. I revelled on the beautiful implications of its meaning - more cooperation, less competition.

Cheers to my classmates who do their best every single day in the so-called law school challenge, you don’t know how much you have inspired me to maximize what I have.

Cheers to my classmates who show emphathy when times go rough and tough, the pat on the shoulders and the kind words healed the pain easily.

Though I fervently wish that this particular quest will end on the day it should, I will surely miss all of you with brilliant minds, passionate hearts and great souls.

Cheers to my classmates!

BULL’S EYE

January 24th, 2008 by belle-z1

There is something about the center.

In Physics, the cetral force or centrifugal force holds the object rotating in the axis. (wikipedia.org)

According to some health article I found in the internet (about.com), the core strength, core stabilization and core support are buzzwords that mean pretty much the same - working abdominals and other postural muscles to help create and maintain reliable upright posture and alignment. (That’s why I’m working on my abs…hehehe ^_^x)

My mom has told me to put God at the center of my life and everything else will follow or will put into place.

In dartboards game, one of the rules to get the highest point is to hit the bull’s eye.

So, there is really something about the center.

Maybe the question now is how to hit the bull’s eye of our lives.

Just a Psychological Theory

July 9th, 2007 by belle-z1

I forgot the Nomenclature of a certain Psychological theory that I won’t forget and it goes like this:

1.When you’re ready and you’re asked to perform, it’s satisfying.

2.When you’re not ready but you’re asked to perform, it’s annoying.

3.When you’re ready but you’re not asked to perform, it’s annoying.

4.When you’re not ready and you’re not asked to perform, its satisfying.

I’ve been in these four situations and I’d like to expound each of them by going beyond the "annoying/satisfying" adjective:

The first is like a war agreed by both parties and they come to the arena on the agreed date with all the necessary defenses and strategies. If you win, then glory be to God. And if you loose, at least you did your best in making the other party sweat to the bones before he gets the victory cup. Win or loose, everybody is happy!

The second one is like an ambush when all your defenses are down. The ability of being decisive and graceful under pressure are being tested. Oftentimes, it may result to discouragement but these spontaneous moments allow one to dicover her true self in depth and realize the necessity of God’s intervention.

The third one is like a duel agreed by both parties to be done on a fixed date but when that fixed date arrives, one party comes with all defenses ready and the other, for  whatever reasons, didn’t come. Expectations are not met. As the prepared party, you may feel that your efforts are useless but NO! Instill in your minds that your learnings during the preparation stage could be used in the future. No regrets for no time was wasted. Celebrate for being the winner by default then, prepare for the next round.

The fourth one is like when all defenses are down due to some fortuitous events and the scheduled fight has come but the other party because of whatever reasons, did not show up. The feeling is like that of a thorn being removed from your endodermis. It’s like an answered prayer and you feel that God has been good to you for giving you more time to prepare for the next match. Gratitude moves you to seize the extension period to the fullest.

Wherever you may be at this point of time, just be there, do your best and God will indeed do the rest. =)

Praising God in the Language of Law

July 5th, 2007 by belle-z1

You are my Principal and I’m proud to be your agent.

You have always been my kind Creditor who condones debts of stubborn debtors like me.

You are my Trustor who entrust this beautiful passing life to me as a Trustee.

I Praise You for all your unsurmountable greatness. I am nothing without You and I am aware that I cannot stand without You for indeed, "the accessory always follows the Principal".

I Thank You for choosing me as one of your agents to spread your Love and Goodness, for forgiving me despite my debts as a debtor, and for entrusting to me as Your trustee this precious gift of Life.

My only hope is to see You smile in everything I do as an agent, debtor and trustee. (–,)

The Blame Game

July 3rd, 2007 by belle-z1

"Kay iyang sala, iyang sala, iyang dakong sala…"

Why does the word blame exist? Perhaps there is a good purpose for it. I have been a victim of this blame game but I also don’t deny that sometimes, I too, have used this for my own "pseudo-salvation". More often than not, I end up feeling more guilty than I should for passing the blame or for being it’s subject.

"Kay akong sala, akong sala, akong dakong sala…"

It’s just so hard to utter these words in the actual situation. One really needs a sufficient dose of Courage and Humility to admit one’s faults. It has been my fervent prayer that everyone including me could do something to cease the annoying habit of blaming and be mature enough to face the consequences.

So, why does the word "blame" exist? Well, perhaps it exists to blame others and yourself for the good things they/you have done. It’s better to be more keen and vocal on the what good we have. I’m not saying that we should be silent on what not-so-good we have. What I’m trying to say is that if we apply ratio and proportion on this matter, 1:10 would be the best representation. This implies that for every not-so-good thing that you want others to know, compensate it with 10 good things that you truly see in them. I believe this is effective based on my own observation. So, why don’t you all join me in applying this theory to our everyday lives… =)
